Circle’s Arc Shows $372M USDC and 176K Addresses 2 Hours After Launch

Points of Focus

  • USDC supply on Arc reached roughly $372 million about two hours after its public mainnet opened.
  • Onchain monitoring put the network at roughly 176,000 addresses shortly after launch.
  • Pre-launch activity means the 176,000 total doesn’t represent users who all arrived within two hours.

USDC supply on Circle’s Arc blockchain reached roughly $372 million, while its address count stood near 176,000 about two hours after the network opened its public mainnet on Sept. 16.

Onchain analyst Ai Yi reported the figures shortly after public access opened. The report said $372 million represented about 0.05% of total USDC supply, but Circle said more than $74 billion of USDC was in circulation at launch. That puts Arc’s reported balance closer to 0.5%.

Arc’s 176K address count includes pre-launch activity

The address count needs context because Arc didn’t start from an empty network on Sept. 16. Circle said in August that Arc was already operating as a private mainnet with more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders ahead of public access.

Arcscan data also shows activity before launch, including 407,144 transactions on Sept. 14 and 456,074 on Sept. 15. The roughly 176,000 addresses observed after public access opened therefore can’t be treated as 176,000 new users who joined within two hours.

Circle launches Arc with USDC as native gas

The $372 million figure represents total USDC observed on Arc roughly two hours after public access opened, not $372 million of fresh post-launch inflows. Arc had already been operating as a private mainnet, and some users had bridged USDC to the network before the Sept. 16 opening.

Neither Circle nor Arcscan has published a launch-time supply snapshot separating that pre-launch balance from USDC added after public access, so the fresh inflow cannot yet be determined..

Circle designed the Layer 1 around dollar-based settlement, with transaction fees paid in USDC rather than a separate volatile gas token.

Circle launched Arc with more than 100 applications and more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders. BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, Mastercard, Standard Chartered and Visa are also part of the network’s founding validator cohort.

The early figures now shift attention from seeded liquidity to activity after public access. Arcscan shows daily transactions rose from 130,996 on Sept. 13 to 407,144 on Sept. 14 and 456,074 on Sept. 15, before Arc’s Sept. 16 public launch.
