Points of Focus

  • Pump.fun now supports 93 quote assets for new token launches.
  • Sunrise added 20 stock tokens issued by Backpack Securities.
  • Half of Custom Pairs protocol revenue will fund PUMP buybacks and burns.

Pump.fun has launched Custom Pairs, allowing creators to price new tokens against tokenized stocks, crypto assets and metals instead of only SOL or USDC.

The feature supports 93 quote assets across Sunrise and xStocks, including tokenized Nvidia, Tesla and S&P 500 products.

Pump.fun Custom Pairs support 93 quote assets

Pump.fun said in a post that creators can pair new tokens with assets including wrapped Bitcoin, Ethereum, tokenized equities and metals. Twenty stock-linked assets arrived through Sunrise, including Boeing, Alibaba, Costco, Dell, IBM, Pfizer, Reddit, Rivian, Shopify and UPS.

The quote asset determines what traders use to buy and sell the new token. A memecoin paired with tokenized Nvidia, for example, trades against the Nvidia-linked token rather than SOL or USDC. Holding the memecoin doesn’t give its owner rights in Nvidia shares.

Pump.fun said 50% of Custom Pairs protocol revenue will enter its programmatic PUMP buyback-and-burn contract. Creators can also set fees between 0.05% and 1%, paid in the selected quote asset.

Sunrise and xStocks use different stock-token structures

The stock-linked quote assets don’t all carry the same holder rights. Sunrise brought 20 stocks to Solana through tokens issued by Backpack Securities, while xStocks supplies tokenized equities and ETFs issued by Backed Assets.

Backpack says its tokens can be converted into corresponding traditional security entitlements. xStocks says its products are backed 1:1 by underlying securities, but holders receive economic exposure rather than ownership, dividends or voting rights.

Pump.fun provides the trading-pair infrastructure rather than issuing the stock-linked assets. Its launch announcement states that the platform doesn’t itself offer stocks, ETFs or other securities.

Tokenized stock liquidity remains uneven

Supporting 93 quote assets doesn’t mean each one has enough liquidity for larger trades. Pump.fun’s pair selector around launch showed wrapped ETH with about $3.07 million in liquidity, compared with roughly $1.13 million for tokenized Nvidia, $836,210 for Tesla and $607,490 for wrapped Bitcoin.

Thinner quote-asset liquidity can increase slippage when larger orders enter those markets.

RWA.xyz data as of Sept. 10 put distributed tokenized-stock value at $2.91 billion. xStocks ranked third at $628.0 million, behind Ondo at $850.1 million and bStocks at $643.1 million.
