Points of Focus

  • DOGE launched on Solana through Sunrise on Sept. 7 across major wallets and trading apps.
  • Trading volume topped $10 million within three hours, with Raydium accounting for more than $9 million.
  • The launch follows Sunrise listings for ARB and tokenized GoPro and AMC shares.

Dogecoin went live on Solana through Sunrise on Sept. 7, giving the 2013 proof-of-work cryptocurrency access to wallets, decentralized exchanges and cross-chain trading infrastructure across the network.

Sunrise announced the listing and identified a canonical Solana DOGE mint, while Solana named Phantom, Backpack, Solflare, Jupiter, Raydium, Kamino Swap, Mayan, DFlow, Titan Exchange and Fomo among the applications supporting the asset.

Sunrise said DOGE generated more than $10 million in Solana trading volume within three hours of launch.

DOGE reaches Solana trading venues

Raydium opened 24/7 DOGE trading and reported more than $9 million in volume, around 80,000 trades and roughly $200,000 in liquidity-provider fees after about four hours. Mayan added cross-chain access, while Jupiter and Kamino Swap were among the launch integrations.

The rollout gives DOGE distribution across established Solana trading products. Fomo, one of the applications named in the launch, recently generated $1.8 million in daily protocol revenue and had processed more than $4 billion in cumulative trading volume by June. Most of that revenue came from swap fees.

Dedicated lending or collateral markets for DOGE have yet to be announced. First-day figures capture trading around the listing, while further DeFi use will depend on individual protocols adding support.

Wider integration could eventually place DOGE alongside assets already used across Solana lending, liquidity and collateral products, although Sunrise has announced no such expansion so far.

Wormhole planned the integration in 2025

The Solana deployment follows more than a year of development. Wormhole first announced plans to bring DOGE to Solana in May 2025 using its Native Token Transfers framework and zero-knowledge proofs developed by Psy and RISC Zero.

Wormhole says NTT keeps token deployments consistent across supported chains while preserving control over metadata, ownership and upgrades. Sunrise uses that infrastructure to coordinate a canonical Solana representation and distribute assets across wallets and trading venues.

For Dogecoin, the setup creates a route from its UTXO-based home chain into Solana’s SPL-token environment. The architecture is designed to give Solana applications access to a common DOGE representation, reducing liquidity fragmentation across competing bridged versions.

Sunrise widens its asset pipeline

DOGE follows a fast sequence of Sunrise listings. ARB arrived on Solana shortly before DOGE, while tokenized GoPro and AMC shares issued by Backpack Securities were added earlier in September.

Those equity listings enter a network where tokenized assets have expanded sharply. Solana’s non-stablecoin real-world asset value crossed $4 billion in August after rising nearly sixfold in 11 months. A Solana Foundation assessment cited in the report put the network’s share of cumulative onchain tokenized-equity spot volume at 97% by late July.

Solana’s external financial links have also widened. MoneyGram recently opened its cash network to Solana apps through a single API, connecting developers to cash-out coverage across more than 170 countries and territories.

The Sunrise pipeline now spans a Layer 2 governance token, tokenized equities and a standalone proof-of-work asset. DOGE cleared $10 million in volume within three hours. Liquidity depth, daily volume and active traders will show whether that activity holds after the launch rush.
