Broadridge Financial Solutions published its inaugural Tokenization Pulse Survey on July 16, drawing on responses from 200 senior decision-makers across wealth management, asset management, capital markets and digital asset firms in the US and Canada.
The findings show firms are moving beyond exploration and are now focusing on how tokenization will reshape products, workflows and markets in the years ahead.
🚨BROADRIDGE SURVEY: 84% OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS SEE TOKENIZATION AS STRATEGIC PRIORITY!
Broadridge’s 2026 Tokenization Pulse Study found that 84% of North American financial services firms view tokenization as strategically important.

Among capital markets firms, which is the segment closest to live execution, 90% said tokenization is strategically important, with market infrastructure developments from DTCC, Nasdaq and NYSE tied with institutional client demand as the top source of urgency at 22% each. Asset managers followed at 85% and wealth managers at 79%.
Strategic conviction is translating into budget commitments. Nearly one-third of surveyed firms plan to increase tokenization project investment by 26% to 50% or more over the next two years, with 69% opting to integrate tokenization into existing infrastructure rather than build separate blockchain-native systems.
That last figure could well be the most important finding in the survey. What a preference for hybrid infrastructure over replacement architecture tells us is that the tokenization buildout will not displace traditional market systems, it will sit on top of them. 92% of respondents expect digital and traditional assets to coexist for the foreseeable future.
The survey reflects a market already in motion. 44% of capital markets firms already have tokenization initiatives operating at scale. DTCC completed its first live tokenized securities trades in July 2026 as part of the UK’s Wholesale Digital Markets taskforce, while Ondo Finance launched the first custodial tokenized securities in the US on July 2, 2026 with Broadridge as the governance partner. SBI Group and Ondo Finance brought Japanese equities on-chain through Solana this week.
As America turns 250, U.S. securities have come onchain on U.S. rails.
Today, Ondo Finance announced the first-ever live solution of third-party tokenized U.S. securities operating entirely within the existing regulatory perimeter in the U.S., in partnership with @Broadridge… pic.twitter.com/auHGrXFtrv

Ripple’s RLUSD, now fully MiCA-licensed across the EU and distributed through SBI VC Trade in Japan, is already functioning as the dollar settlement layer in several of these live arrangements. The Broadridge survey’s finding that 84% of institutions now view tokenization as a strategic priority lands inside an ecosystem where the infrastructure to serve that priority is operational, not theoretical.
The preference for integrating tokenization into existing infrastructure rather than building separate systems suggests a hybrid model that builds on traditional markets. For crypto infrastructure providers, this institutional momentum creates a clear opportunity as firms seek partners with proven scale and compliance experience.
The Clarity Act is ready for a full Senate floor vote.
The bill represents a true bipartisan compromise with thousands of hours of work on both sides, and it couldn't come at a better time. The status quo in the U.S. isn't working. There's no federal framework, so bad actors… pic.twitter.com/8HQvp8iSrw

Regulatory uncertainty remains the top challenge cited by respondents, which makes the CLARITY Act’s Senate vote this week more consequential than any individual firm’s tokenization roadmap. Without a federal framework governing which assets qualify as commodities and how tokenized securities are treated, the 84% strategic priority figure risks could well remain just an aspiration.
