Points of Focus

  • X says coordinated crypto accounts turned engagement loops into more than 207,000 pounds in creator payouts.
  • The case names accounts spanning Bitcoin and prediction-market content.
  • X alleges near-duplicate posts, mutual boosting, and multiple financial accounts formed the core of the scheme.

X has sued two people and unidentified operators behind a network of crypto-focused accounts, alleging they manipulated engagement to collect more than 207,000 British pounds through its former Creator Revenue Sharing program.

X Internet Unlimited Company and X Corp filed the case on Sept. 17 in the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales against Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and persons unknown, under claim number BL-2026-001161, according to X’s Particulars of Claim.

X alleges the defendants operated multiple accounts as a coordinated network, published similar content, boosted one another’s posts, and used multiple financial accounts while receiving payouts from the platform.

James Burnham, general counsel of X and xAI, announced the lawsuit on Sept. 21, describing the case as an effort to address alleged abuse of its creator payout system.

The court has not ruled on the allegations.

X links six accounts to the alleged network

The claim identifies six primary accounts that participated in Creator Revenue Sharing between August 2023 and February 2026: @Vivek4real_, @Bitcoin_Teddy, @saylordocs, @TrendingBitcoin, @Kalshibacktest, and @PolyBackTest.

X links three of those accounts to Sen and the other three to Sherpa through associated payment accounts.

The names @Kalshibacktest and @PolyBackTest refer to prediction-market-focused accounts. Neither Kalshi nor Polymarket is a defendant, and the filing makes no allegation of improper trading activity on either platform.

X says the network extended beyond the six primary accounts and included three additional accounts involved in coordinated engagement. The company also claims @Vivek4real_ offered paid engagement-manipulation services to third parties.

Creator Revenue Sharing required more than 5 million organic impressions over three months, at least 500 verified followers, and a linked Stripe account, according to the filing.

X cites several examples of closely timed activity. @TrendingBitcoin, @Vivek4real_, and @Bitcoin_Teddy allegedly published the same content within minutes of one another on July 23, July 26, and Aug. 3. On Aug. 5, @Vivek4real_ and @TrendingBitcoin allegedly published substantially similar posts 11 seconds apart.

X said the accounts repeatedly liked, reposted, and replied to one another’s posts to increase engagement, while the wider network allowed activity to continue when individual accounts were restricted.

Prediction markets have separately faced scrutiny over market integrity and coordinated trading, including investigations into clusters of connected Polymarket accounts trading around specific events.

X said it suspended the defendants’ accounts on Aug. 18 for coordinated revenue-sharing fraud and platform manipulation.

X seeks repayment and damages

X puts its Creator Revenue Sharing losses at no less than 207,384 pounds. The company also expects investigation, analysis, remediation, and prevention costs to total at least 75,000 pounds, according to the filing.

The lawsuit seeks repayment of disputed funds, damages, interest and legal costs. X brought claims including deceit, unlawful means conspiracy, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and knowing receipt.

X retired Creator Revenue Sharing on Sept. 7 and began rolling out its Original Content Rewards program to existing participants on Sept. 8. Under the current program, artificially generated and fraudulent impressions are excluded from qualified impressions used for payouts.

The company has also been expanding financial features around its asset pages, recently adding trading links to Cashtags through Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini.
