Quant becomes the settlement layer for US bank money
The Clearing House (TCH) claims to clear and settle more than $2 trillion daily. It named Quant as the technology provider for its Onchain Money Initiative on Sept. 24. TCH first unveiled the initiative on June 5, 2026, when 16 banks, including Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan, and Wells Fargo, publicly endorsed it.
Quant will supply the interoperability, orchestration, and transaction-management layer linking tokenized deposits to the RTP and CHIPS networks. The network is expected to become available to participating institutions in the first half of 2027.
The Clearing House’s chief strategy officer, Sal Karakaplan, said interbank tokenized-deposit infrastructure needs technology proven to scale, giving banks of every size a path to participate. Quant will also provide tokenized-deposit infrastructure to US financial institutions that don’t yet have that capability through its tokenized deposits-as-a-service product.
UK banks complete the first live tokenized-deposit transactions
Seven UK banks completed the first live customer transactions using tokenized sterling deposits. The trial ran on the Quant-built Great British Tokenised Deposit platform, with Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, and Santander taking part; Monzo joined the project in January 2026.

The pilot included two remortgage completions, with funds locked until property transfers were confirmed and released automatically at completion, plus one marketplace purchase in which a buyer’s funds stayed locked until goods were exchanged.
UK Finance’s Jana Mackintosh said the transactions could give customers greater control over payments and strengthen UK payments infrastructure. Further pilots are planned in the coming months to test digital-asset settlement, in which banks would issue tradable digital debt instruments with coupons paid in tokenized deposits.
QNT’s rally has outrun the disclosed deal details
QNT touched an intraday high of $104.68 before easing to $100.70. Its roughly $78.5 million 24-hour trading volume (as of writing) jumped 522% from the prior day, giving it a $1.46-billion market capitalization.
On the chart, $104, this week’s high, is the next resistance level to clear, with $110-$120 above it; support sits at $88-$90, Friday’s session low, followed by a deeper floor around $70-$73, the top of the range QNT broke out from.

Neither the Sept. 24 announcement disclosed deal terms nor dollar figures. TCH said additional participation and use-case details will be shared as development progresses toward its 2027 target.
UK Finance said its next phase, digital-asset settlement, remains in planning, with further pilots expected in the coming months.
The rally is therefore pricing in a network and a bond-settlement capability that don’t exist yet.
