Porsche is closing its Web3 project and Pioneers Circle, ending an experiment built around tokenized versions of its 911 sports car nearly four years after the automaker first outlined its Web3 ambitions.
In an Oct. 1 X post, Porsche said existing Porsche 911 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will remain with their owners and continue to exist onchain. The community Discord will become a read-only archive, while the “@eth_porsche” account will no longer receive active updates. Porsche didn’t give a specific reason for ending the project.

Porsche 911 NFT project closes after early-ended 2023 mint
Porsche announced plans for 7,500 digital 911 collectibles at Art Basel Miami in late 2022, with the mint opening in January 2023. Buyers could choose Performance, Heritage, or Lifestyle paths that changed the appearance of their NFTs.
Each NFT initially cost 0.911 Ether (ETH). Porsche ended the mint early after its official account said holders had called for a reduced supply. The final collection contained 2,363 NFTs, less than one-third of the original 7,500 target.
Porsche kept developing the project after the mint ended. Holders received customization options and access to the Pioneers Circle, while later experiences connected the digital collection with physical Porsche events and other holder benefits.
Porsche NFTs remain onchain as community support ends
The NFTs themselves aren’t being burned or withdrawn. Porsche is instead ending the active community and communications structure surrounding the collection.
OpenSea lists 2,363 items and about 11,700 ETH in lifetime trading volume. Market data around the shutdown put the floor near 0.08 ETH, roughly 91% below the original 0.911 ETH mint price.
The price decline provides context for the project’s final years, but Porsche hasn’t linked its decision to NFT prices or trading activity. Its Oct. 1 announcement closes the official community channels while leaving all 2,363 Porsche 911 NFTs on Ethereum.
