United Stables has moved its oracle and cross-chain infrastructure to Chainlink, integrating the network’s Data Feeds and proof of reserve products across BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Tron.

The migration comes as the U stablecoin’s supply crosses $1 billion and daily trading volume approaches $2.5 billion, seven months after the token launched in December 2025.

Why oracles matter more than most stablecoin users realize

The decision fits a broader repricing of infrastructure risk across decentralized finance (DeFi), driven by three major security incidents in 2026.

In April, a Chainlink price feed exploit affected Balancer v2 vaults for about six hours. In June, the Cetus exploit on Sui drained around $223 million, partly through price manipulation. Around the same period, the $292-million KelpDAO cross-chain messaging exploit prompted Virtuals Protocol to migrate more than $700 million in VIRTUAL tokens from LayerZero to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).

That migration became one of the highest-profile departures from LayerZero in 2026 and reshaped how major token issuers assess cross-chain messaging providers.

Chainlink, which says it has enabled more than $25 trillion in transaction value since inception without a protocol-level exploit, has increasingly positioned its defense-in-depth architecture as a key selling point for stablecoin issuers.

What United Stables actually integrated

Two products are live immediately. Data Feeds deliver decentralized market pricing across more than 20 lending protocols where U is used as collateral, replacing whatever oracle setup preceded the migration. Proof of reserve provides automated, cryptographic verification of the fiat and digital assets backing U, published on a public dashboard.

A future integration of CCIP is planned but not yet deployed and would replace whatever bridge infrastructure U currently uses for transfers between BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Tron.

Chainlink chief business officer Johann Eid called the deal as enabling U to scale securely across chains without relying on the bridging architecture that has produced most of DeFi’s largest exploits.

United Stables CEO Athena said the integration lets institutional partners and DeFi protocols independently verify collateral 24/7, a claim the proof of reserve dashboard is designed to substantiate rather than assert.

Where U fits in the stablecoin hierarchy

At $1 billion in supply, U remains a fraction of Tether’s USDt (USDT) $184-billion market cap or USDC’s (USDC) $73 billion, but the growth trajectory is aggressive. Tether Value Locked crossed $1 billion within three months of launch and now roughly doubles that figure.

The BNB Chain concentration matters: U’s largest venue is also the network that has hosted the fastest stablecoin growth of 2026, and native deployment on Binance, HTX, KuCoin, Gate, Bitget, and MEXC provides distribution that most challenger stablecoins take years to assemble.
