Point of Focus
- XRP’s six-year ascending support remains intact.
- The $0.70-$0.90 zone emerges as the critical range to watch.
- Retail sentiment remains bullish despite XRP falling to its lowest level since November 2024.
XRP (XRP) is approaching a decisive technical test after briefly falling below $1 before recovering, even as weakness across the broader cryptocurrency market continues to pressure major assets.
The token declined to its lowest level since November 2024 as Bitcoin failed for a fourth time this year to hold above $65,000.
Yet retail interest has remained unusually resilient: XRP became a leading trend on Stocktwits and reportedly ranked as CoinGecko’s second most-viewed cryptocurrency.
That divergence between falling prices and rising attention could make XRP’s next move especially significant.
Six-year support returns to focus
Technical analyst ChartNerd argues that XRP’s six-year ascending support floor remains intact despite the latest retracement. The analyst identified the $0.70-$0.90 region as a possible third retest of a long-term structure that previously coincided with major reversals.
The thesis also points to a potential “spring” within a cup-and-handle fractal. In technical analysis, a spring occurs when price briefly moves below support before recovering, potentially trapping sellers and creating the conditions for a rebound.
$XRP briefly slipped under $1.00 and immediately recovered.
Now the 2nd most-viewed token on CoinGecko.
That's not a coincidence. 🔥 https://t.co/bQGQQZW7yS pic.twitter.com/6O8fWmvr3m— 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸XRP (@BankXRP) August 12, 2026
However, the pattern remains speculative until confirmed. A sustained break below the support zone would weaken the bullish structure and expose XRP to further losses.
Holding it would suggest that long-term buyers are still prepared to defend the range.
Retail conviction defies market weakness
XRP’s dip below $1 attracted more attention rather than prompting an immediate collapse in sentiment. Stocktwits data showed retail sentiment remaining bullish while message activity rose from normal to high.
This contrasts with Ethereum, where sentiment reportedly shifted from neutral to bearish after ETH fell toward $1,88.
Yes. $XRP stars are aligning; our 6YR ascending support floor remains fully intact, and the current retrace is bringing price back toward a level that has consistently marked major reversals 🚀 the "3RD RETEST" is now in sight, with the setup very hard to ignore ($0.90/70). https://t.co/UBkruLx15Z pic.twitter.com/2GB482vDDq

XRP’s stronger engagement suggests that some retail traders view the decline as a potential accumulation opportunity.
Extreme social media forecasts, including claims connecting XRP to a hypothetical gold-backed financial system, should nevertheless be treated cautiously. Such narratives are unsupported by the price data presented and risk distracting from the more relevant question of whether support holds.
Bitcoin and regulation remain key risks
XRP’s outlook cannot be separated from the wider market. Bitcoin’s (BTC) repeated rejection near $65,000 has reinforced bearish conditions, while uncertainty surrounding the CLARITY Act has added to investor caution.
Grayscale research head Zach Pandl warned on X that Senate approval in 2026 may now be unlikely because of the legislative calendar and November midterms.

Although a delay would not immediately change how major blockchains operate, it could weaken sentiment toward US-facing crypto assets.
For XRP, the setup is now straightforward: Defending $0.70-$0.90 could validate the long-term reversal thesis. Losing that zone would turn a highly watched retest into a potentially significant technical breakdown.
