Points of Focus
- XRP is trading below the psychologically important $1 level.
- XRP remains below its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs.
- Initial support sits near $0.988, followed by $0.95.
XRP’s (XRP) fall below $1 has placed the token at a critical technical juncture, even as Ripple continues expanding its institutional business in South Korea.
The token traded near $0.996 on Tuesday after moving between $0.989 and $1.01 over 24 hours.
Although buyers have repeatedly defended the psychologically important dollar level, weakening momentum and declining moving averages (MAs) suggest that XRP has yet to establish a durable bottom.
Ripple deal does not guarantee XRP demand
Ripple’s partnership with Jeonbuk Bank strengthens the company’s presence in South Korea. The regional lender will use Ripple Payments to offer near real-time, 24/7 cross-border transfers to import-export businesses, technology startups and online content creators.
The service is intended to replace payment processes that can take several days and involve multiple intermediary banks. However, Ripple and Jeonbuk Bank have not disclosed which asset will facilitate settlement.

That distinction matters for XRP’s price outlook. Adoption of Ripple’s enterprise technology does not automatically create demand for XRP, particularly if transfers use fiat currencies, stablecoins, or other liquidity arrangements.
The announcement may support longer-term confidence in Ripple’s institutional strategy, but it provides no confirmed catalyst for XRP buyers in the immediate market.
Technical structure keeps sellers in control
XRP remains below its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day exponential moving averages (EMAs), producing a stacked resistance structure. A descending trendline near $1.06 and the 50-day EMA around $1.07 form the first significant recovery test.
The relative strength index (RSI) near 36 indicates persistent selling pressure while approaching, but not yet reaching, conventionally oversold territory.

The moving average convergence/divergence (MACD) indicator also remains slightly negative, reinforcing the bearish near-term bias.
A sustained daily close above $1 would be the first step toward stabilization. XRP would then need to break through $1.05-$1.07 before challenging the 100-day EMA near $1.16. The 200-day EMA around $1.35 represents a substantially higher barrier.
Leverage raises breakdown risk
Immediate support sits near $0.988, followed by $0.95 and the broader $0.85-$0.90 region. A decisive daily close below $0.988 could accelerate losses, especially if leveraged long positions are forced to unwind.
Growth in whale transactions and exchange withdrawals may indicate renewed interest, but neither metric confirms accumulation. Large transfers can represent buying, selling, or internal wallet movements.

For now, XRP’s Korean banking narrative and price performance remain separate stories.
Unless buyers reclaim $1 and then overcome the $1.06-$1.07 resistance cluster, the technical outlook continues to favor caution and leaves lower support levels exposed.
