Point of Focus
- XRP is holding near $1.30 after a roughly 10% CLARITY Act selloff.
- The post-August bull flag remains intact toward $1.97.
- XRP must first reclaim $1.35 and break through $1.46.
XRP is attempting to stabilize around $1.30 after suffering one of its steepest daily declines in months, leaving traders focused on whether a key technical support zone can keep the token’s post-August bullish structure intact.
The token fell by almost 12% during Tuesday’s selloff as the US Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act, compared with a roughly 4% decline in Bitcoin.
The procedural motion received 49 votes in favor and 50 against, short of the 60 required to move forward.
Despite the drop, XRP remains above its 50-day and 100-day exponential moving averages (EMAs), leaving a potential bull flag intact. A measured move from that pattern points toward $1.97, although several resistance levels stand between XRP and the $2 mark.
XRP holds critical $1.25-$1.28 support
XRP traded around $1.30 on Thursday, sitting just above its 50-day EMA at approximately $1.284 and its 100-day EMA near $1.255.
Together, those averages create a support zone between roughly $1.25 and $1.28. The area has become particularly important after the CLARITY Act-driven selloff pushed XRP toward the lower boundary of the downward-sloping channel that has developed since August.
YOU WILL BE CHASING XRP FROM BEHIND$XRP has just printed the lowest two week RSI reading in its entire 13 year history.
Lower than 2018.
Lower than the 2020 covid collapse.

XRP remains capped by the 200-day EMA at approximately $1.353, however. That leaves the token squeezed between longer-term support below and resistance around $1.35-$1.36.
Momentum indicators also point toward consolidation rather than an immediate breakout. The relative strength index (RSI) has slipped to around 46, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains below zero, suggesting bullish momentum has weakened.
XRP bull flag still points toward $2
The broader technical setup dates back to XRP’s August rebound.
XRP bottomed around $0.99 on Aug. 17 before surging to nearly $1.70 five days later. Since then, price has gradually moved lower inside a relatively narrow descending channel.
That structure resembles a bull flag, a consolidation pattern that can develop after a sharp upward move.

Importantly, this week’s decline has so far remained inside the channel rather than producing a confirmed breakdown.
Based on the size of the August rally, the pattern’s measured move points toward approximately $1.97, representing potential upside of more than 50% from $1.30.
However, that target remains conditional on a breakout rather than a forecast of where XRP will necessarily trade.
$1.35, $1.46 and $1.56 stand between XRP and $2
The first test for buyers sits much closer than $2.
XRP needs to reclaim its 200-day EMA around $1.35 before challenging horizontal resistance near $1.46. Beyond that, $1.56-$1.60 represents another major resistance zone.
$XRP Analysis
Many people have been asking me for an analysis of Ripple.I would never invest in Ripple at this stage because its market cap is already too large , market cap is $81B but it has no products or revenue whatsoever
Instead, I look for coins with smaller market cap… https://t.co/PQCAyHO9FT pic.twitter.com/tWbWjVVXM8

A sustained breakout above those levels would provide stronger confirmation that the bull flag is resolving upward and could bring the $1.90-$1.97 region into focus.
Conversely, a daily close below the $1.25-$1.28 support band would weaken the bullish structure and expose the psychological $1 level.
Fed rate hike adds pressure to XRP
XRP is also navigating a more difficult macro environment following the Federal Reserve’s Wednesday meeting.
The Fed unanimously raised its target range by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00%, saying inflation remains elevated.

Its latest projections also showed a median year-end federal funds rate of 4.1%, implying policymakers expect another increase before the end of 2026.
That leaves XRP facing both technical and macro tests. For now, $1.25-$1.28 is the key area keeping the bull flag alive. Holding it preserves the possibility of another attempt at $1.35 and eventually $1.46-$1.56, while a decisive breakdown would shift attention back toward the $1 region.
