Point of Focus

  • Ripple has activated AI-powered payments on the XRP Ledger through the rollout of version 3.2.0.
  • Ripple is also hiring GenAI talent shortly after the upgrade, signaling a deeper commitment to developing agentic AI systems.
  • XRP’s price remains range-bound near $1.14, with buyers successfully defending the crucial $1.10 support zone.

Ripple’s push into AI is opening a new chapter for the XRP Ledger (XRPL), as the company rolls out AI-powered payment capabilities while expanding its workforce to support the technology.

The development comes at a pivotal time for XRP (XRP), with bulls continuing to defend the critical $1.10 support level amid growing adoption catalysts and renewed institutional interest.

Ripple activates AI agent payments on XRP Ledger

Ripple has enabled AI agent payments on the XRPL following the release of XRPL version 3.2.0, introducing support for x402-powered transactions using XRP and Ripple’s stablecoin, RLUSD.

The upgrade lets AI agents make and settle payments directly onchain for services such as APIs, computing resources, and other digital products without requiring human intervention.

By automating machine-to-machine transactions, Ripple is positioning XRPL as a key infrastructure layer for the emerging agentic AI economy.

The integration significantly expands the utility of both XRP and RLUSD, creating new use cases beyond traditional cross-border payments and settlement services. The move could increase network activity and strengthen demand for assets operating within the XRP ecosystem.

Ripple expands GenAI team

Alongside the launch of AI-powered payments, Ripple is actively recruiting talent to accelerate its AI initiatives.

The company recently posted a vacancy for a staff software engineer focused on its GenAI platform in San Francisco. While Ripple has not explicitly linked the hiring effort to the XRPL upgrade, the timing suggests the company is investing heavily in scaling its AI infrastructure.

The role will involve developing production-grade agentic AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, runtime environments, evaluation frameworks, security controls, and developer tools. These capabilities are expected to support deeper integration between AI systems and XRP- or RLUSD-based payments.

As competition intensifies among blockchain networks seeking to serve AI applications, Ripple’s investment in both infrastructure and talent underscores its ambition to become a leading platform for autonomous financial transactions.

XRP bulls hold key $1.10 support

Despite the positive ecosystem developments, XRP’s price remains trapped within a narrow trading range.

The token was trading near $1.14 over the weekend after failing to sustain a breakout above the $1.20 resistance level. Buyers have repeatedly defended the $1.10 support zone, preventing a deeper correction even as trading volumes remain subdued.

Technical analysts consider $1.10 the most important level on the chart. A decisive break below this support could expose downside targets near $1.05 and potentially the psychological $1.00 mark. Some longer-term analyses point to even lower support near $0.60 if bearish momentum accelerates.

On the upside, XRP must reclaim $1.20 with convincing volume before bulls can target resistance levels around $1.25 and $1.30. Further barriers remain near the descending channel resistance and the 100-day moving average around $1.35.

Adoption catalysts continue to build

While price action has remained relatively muted, Ripple’s ecosystem continues to expand.

The company has been growing RLUSD’s footprint through payment networks, stablecoin settlement initiatives, and partnerships aimed at cross-border transactions. Ripple-backed projects such as MXNB, a Mexican peso stablecoin on XRPL, and integrations tied to Mastercard’s stablecoin settlement network have strengthened the ledger’s payments ecosystem.

At the same time, XRP-linked investment products continue attracting capital, while exchange reserves have fallen to multi-year lows. Lower available supply on exchanges can amplify price movements if demand increases.

However, caution remains warranted. Whale selling activity and weakening network metrics have tempered bullish sentiment, leaving XRP in a consolidation phase despite a steady stream of positive developments.
