Points of Focus

  • Solana card spending reached a record $69.5 million in July.
  • KAST processed $62.34 million, equal to 89.7% of Solana’s total.
  • SOL traded at $73.84, below a short-term moving-average cluster ending at $74.05.

Solana traded at $73.84 on Thursday as Solana-based card spending reached a record $69.5 million in July. The payment milestone did not coincide with a move above $75, while the 5-day, 10-day, 20-day, and 50-day averages remained clustered between $73.88 and $74.05.

Solana card spending reaches $69.5 million

KAST processed $62.34 million of Solana’s July card volume, giving it an 89.7% share, while Avici ranked second with $2.21 million. The record shows rising use of Solana-based payment cards, but the provider concentration limits how broadly the figure represents adoption across the market.

Paymentscan tracks KAST settlements processed through Rain, but its methodology excludes transactions routed through Rain’s legacy contracts or other issuers.

The $69.5 million figure therefore represents tracked Solana card spending rather than every card purchase connected to the network. Within that coverage, the wider crypto card market reached $748.7 million in July, up 19.1% from June and 144.7% year over year. Activity totaled 8.77 million transactions across 158,857 active addresses.

SOL price faces the $75.50 EMA test

SOL traded near $73.80 at the time of writing, with the 5-day, 10-day, 20-day, and 50-day averages clustered between $73.88 and $74.05. That places $74.05 as the immediate resistance level, followed by the broader $75 threshold. The tight cluster around the current price points to consolidation rather than a confirmed recovery.

The daily RSI stood at 46.40, showing that momentum remained below neutral without entering oversold territory. The MACD line remained below its signal line at minus 0.70 versus minus 0.62. The narrow gap indicates that downward momentum has eased, but the indicators have not confirmed a stronger upward move.

Paymentscan tracks stablecoin card settlements, so higher spending does not necessarily create demand for SOL. Card users can spend stablecoins without buying or holding the network token, leaving SOL below the short-term average cluster at $74.05 and the broader $75 resistance level.
