Points of Focus

  • World went live on July 1 inside Phantom, reaching 20 million wallets instantly without extra downloads.
  • Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure replaces manual resolution, enabling automatic payouts when markets close.
  • Jupiter launched a competing Solana prediction market two days earlier, making the space suddenly crowded.

One of Solana’s most-teased stealth projects finally revealed itself on July 1, and the reveal came not through a flashy announcement but through a legal disclosure page that had been sitting quietly on Phantom’s website since June 24.

Austin Federa, co-founder of DoubleZero, spotted the disclosure and shared it publicly, writing, “Doxxed @world_xyz. The real alpha is always in the disclosures and t&c’s.”

World, which had spent months circulating across the Solana ecosystem with nothing but a glowing globe, cryptic posts, and the tagline “Trade Everything,” is now live as a fully onchain prediction market accessible directly inside the Phantom wallet.

The platform went live at World.xyz and within Phantom on iOS, Android, and desktop simultaneously, skipping the typical friction of a separate app download or new wallet setup. Phantom’s 20 million active users can open the wallet and start trading event contracts in seconds. Settlement runs through Phantom’s CASH stablecoin, with every position, redemption, and payout occurring onchain rather than through a custodial intermediary.

Chainlink replaces human resolution

The most technically significant element of World’s architecture is what it removes rather than what it adds. Legacy prediction markets, including earlier versions of Phantom’s own prediction market infrastructure, depended on human-controlled resolution processes, a setup that slowed payouts, created dispute windows, and introduced counterparty risk at the settlement layer.

World replaced that with Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment, which handle market data feeds and outcome resolution automatically using live data without requiring human sign-off. Payouts trigger the moment a market closes rather than requiring users to manually redeem outcome tokens after expiry.

Johann Eid, chief business officer of Chainlink Labs, described the integration as part of a broader industry shift away from manual oracle solutions, saying it positions the prediction market sector to scale toward trillions in trading volume. The shift matters beyond World specifically because Polymarket, the dominant player in onchain prediction markets, still relies on human resolution committees for disputed outcomes, a structural vulnerability that automated oracle settlement is designed to eliminate.

Markets at launch and World’s competitors

Opening markets cover two categories: short-duration Bitcoin (BTC) price movements and 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup outcomes. Additional markets in sports, geopolitics, macroeconomics, and elections are planned through July.

The Bitcoin price markets compete directly with Jupiter’s Forecast product, which launched its own 15-minute BTC price markets on June 29, two days before World went live, making the Solana prediction market space suddenly competitive in a way it was not a week ago.

Pedro Miranda, head of consumer at the Solana Foundation, called the launch a demonstration of what high-performance blockchains can support at a consumer level.

Predictions as a primitive are just getting started, from hedging instruments to more calculated investments,” said Miranda.

What the disclosure page that initially revealed World also confirmed is that the infrastructure has been live in production since June 1, replacing a previous DFlow and Kalshi integration that required manual redemptions after market expiry. The stealth operating period means World was already routing real user funds through Solana before the public launch.

Open questions around team, token, and liquidity

World’s team has not publicly identified itself. No investors have been named, and no token has been announced, although the project’s structure and the wording of the disclosure leave both possibilities open.

Whether Phantom’s distribution advantage and Chainlink’s automated resolution infrastructure give World a durable edge over both Polymarket and the rapidly growing Solana-native competition from Jupiter will depend on how quickly it can build deep liquidity across the macro and election markets it plans to expand into. Distribution may solve user acquisition, but liquidity depth is the challenge that follows immediately after.
