Points of Focus

  • Robinhood Chain generated $2.13M in 24-hour fees as DEX volume hit $1.57B.
  • Seven-day DEX volume reached $6.92B, up 89%, with TVL near $735M.
  • Pons-led token launches are pushing activity beyond the chain’s RWA focus.

Robinhood Chain generated $2.13 million in chain fees over a rolling 24-hour period as decentralized exchange volume reached $1.57 billion, according to Sept. 2 data from DeFiLlama. The two-month-old Ethereum Layer 2 held about $735 million in total value locked, putting 24-hour volume at roughly 2.1 times its TVL.

The activity has expanded sharply since Robinhood Chain’s July 1 public mainnet launch. Seven-day DEX volume reached $6.92 billion, up 89% from the prior week, while stablecoin market capitalization stood near $797 million.

Robinhood Chain volume rises as Pons trading accelerates

Speculative token trading has become a major source of activity alongside Robinhood Chain’s RWA focus. Arkham reported that the network processed a record 5.52 million transactions on Aug. 30, when Pons users launched about 22,600 tokens.

According to DeFiLlama, Pons generated $4.89 million in application fees on Aug. 31, up from roughly $150,000 when tracking began on July 14. Its bonding-curve model moves launched tokens into Uniswap V4 pools, generating launch, swap and liquidity transactions.

The activity is also crossing into tokenized stocks. Daily RWA-related token volume reached $390 million, including a record $217 million from memecoin-stock pairs and $127 million from stocks. That shows speculative assets are increasingly trading directly against stock-linked tokens rather than operating separately from the chain’s RWA market.

Pons application fees and Robinhood Chain fees measure different activity. The $4.89 million Pons figure accrues at the application level and shouldn’t be treated as revenue earned by Robinhood.

Robinhood Chain DEX volume rises despite net outflows

The $1.57 billion DEX figure needs context. DeFiLlama also showed $40.79 million in 24-hour net outflows while TVL stood at $734.85 million, meaning the chain processed about $2.14 of DEX volume for every $1 of locked value.

The combination points to high trading intensity without matching net capital inflows. Arkham linked part of that activity to memecoins paired with Robinhood Stock Tokens, allowing traders to use stock-linked assets as trading counterparts instead of only ETH or stablecoins.

RWA activity remains material, with active RWA market capitalization at $175.43 million. Robinhood CFO Shiv Verma said on the company’s Q2 earnings call that Robinhood earns a few basis points per transaction on Robinhood Chain and shares approximately half of that revenue with Arbitrum.
