MainStreet’s MSUSD collapsed on June 20 after Accountable terminated its service agreement with MainStreet, saying the project was unable to meet its verification standards. The dollar-pegged token traded near $0.2477 at the time of writing, down 88.2% over 24 hours, having fallen to a session low of $0.09031 from a level near $1 earlier that day.
MainStreet had marketed MSUSD as redeemable one-to-one for USDC (USDC). Staking MSUSD minted msY, a yield-bearing token representing returns generated by MainStreet’s delta-neutral options strategies. This design leaned heavily on the Accountable verification feed and on integrations with larger venues, including Morpho.

With the feed terminated, the Accountable-powered dashboard no longer verifies any reserves behind MSUSD. The market repriced instantly.
Approximately $18 million in depositor funds is stuck in the AlphaUSDC Delta V2 vault managed by curator AlphaPing, which had concentrated its exposure in the msY/USDC market on Morpho Blue. That market hit 100% utilization, meaning every dollar that could be borrowed has been borrowed, and there is nothing left for depositors trying to withdraw.
The crash triggered borrow rates of 138% on the msY/USDC market. The vault had been presented to depositors as a delta-neutral USDC strategy, a framing that implied limited directional risk. In practice, it carried heavy concentration in a single market whose collateral, msY, was entirely dependent on MainStreet’s reserve verification remaining intact.
Depositors are stuck, while the market waits for repayment that may no longer be economically attractive for borrowers, given that the collateral backing their positions has lost the majority of its stated value.

The two parties have issued contradictory public statements. Accountable said MainStreet was unable to meet its verification standards and was terminated immediately, adding that it would hold that standard without exception.
Accountable has terminated its service agreement with MainStreet, effective immediately. MainStreet was unable to meet our verification standards.
We recognize that markets relied on this feed and are working closely with partners across the ecosystem as the situation evolves.…

In response to the depeg, MainStreet launched a community vote on a repeg and compensation plan designed to support affected users. If approved, eligible holders could receive compensation and priority access to recovery mechanisms as the protocol works to restore MSUSD’s peg and rebuild confidence.
The proposal follows MainStreet’s earlier deployment of more than $8 million in USDC to stabilize the ecosystem and address liquidity pressures.
The MSUSD collapse illustrates a structural vulnerability common to yield-bearing dollar tokens: The verification feed is not a secondary feature but a load-bearing pillar of the entire trust model.
When that single point of failure breaks, the delta-neutral framing, the one-to-one USDC redemption claim, and the Morpho integration all lose their credibility simultaneously.
The token also runs on an upgradeable proxy contract, a design detail that gives the protocol’s operators the ability to modify its logic after deployment, adding a layer of counterparty risk that standard stablecoin audits do not always take into account.
For the roughly $18 million locked in AlphaUSDC Delta V2, the debate over MainStreet’s reserves is more than a question of transparency. It will determine whether users recover their funds and how much value ultimately returns to the protocol.
