Point of Focus

  • 1inch added HyperEVM after launching Cronos and Monad support on consecutive days.
  • HyperEVM gives 1inch access to $246 million in daily DEX volume and $1.47 billion in TVL.
  • 1inch said all three networks underwent full security reviews.

Decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator 1inch has added support for HyperEVM, completing its third blockchain integration in three days as it moves to reduce fragmentation across decentralized finance (DeFi).

The Hyperliquid-compatible network joined 1inch on Sept. 10, following Cronos on Sept. 8 and Monad on Sept. 9. All three networks are now available through the 1inch decentralized application (dApp), Wallet, Aqua liquidity protocol, and Business API suite.

“We tend to add chains where there’s already demand from users and where we can bring the full 1inch stack from day one — the dApp, Wallet, Aqua, and APIs,” a 1inch spokesperson told AlphaWire.

HyperEVM opens another source of liquidity

1inch prioritized HyperEVM because the network already supports considerable trading activity and a growing DeFi ecosystem.

As of Sept. 9, HyperEVM recorded $246 million in daily spot DEX volume, $1.47 billion in total value locked (TVL), and 15,257 daily active addresses, according to DefiLlama data cited by 1inch.

“We don’t forecast volume, but HyperEVM already has strong swap activity, and its DeFi ecosystem is growing,” the spokesperson said.

“For us, that makes it a natural network to support and gives 1inch access to another active source of onchain liquidity and trading.”

Users can now access intent-based swaps, cross-chain transactions, and protection against certain forms of maximal extractable value, or MEV.

“Instead of putting an order into the public mempool and exposing it to bots that might try to sandwich the trade, the user signs the outcome they’re willing to accept, and resolvers compete to fill it,” the spokesperson said.

However, that protection applies specifically to intent-based transactions. It does not cover aggregator swaps submitted directly by users or eliminate MEV across HyperEVM as a whole.

Bridge-free does not mean risk-free

The integration allows users to move assets between supported chains without relying on traditional bridges or handing custody to 1inch.

“The resolver locks the required funds in escrow contracts on both chains,” the spokesperson said.

“Once the same secret is revealed, the funds unlock on both sides. If the swap doesn’t complete, the tokens go back to their owners.”

The model removes conventional bridge custody risk, but users remain exposed to smart-contract vulnerabilities, unfilled orders, and refund delays caused by timelocks.

HyperEVM users can also access 1inch Aqua, which lets liquidity providers use assets across multiple positions without depositing them into individual pools.

“You approve a balance, the tokens stay in your wallet, and that same liquidity can be used across multiple positions at the same time,” the spokesperson said.

Security reviews were not rushed

The three announcements arrived on consecutive days, but 1inch said it did not compress its security and testing processes.

“Three days is how quickly we announced the integrations, not how quickly we reviewed them,” the spokesperson said.

“All three chains had already been running in production behind feature flags well before the announcements, and QA was signed off before the first launch went out.”

The deployments also use existing protocol versions that have undergone public audits, rather than three entirely new sets of smart contracts.

“Nothing was compressed to fit the announcement schedule,” the spokesperson said.

“By integrating three chains in three days, we’re showing how quickly those barriers can be broken down,” 1inch co-founder Sergej Kunz said.
