Points of Focus

  • Bitcoin trades at $84,037.72 as spot ETF inflows extend to six sessions.
  • US Bitcoin ETFs have attracted about $2.84B since Sept. 17.
  • BTC is testing Glassnode’s key $84K-$85K long-term holder supply zone.

Bitcoin traded at $84,037.72 on Friday as US spot Bitcoin ETFs extended their inflow streak to six sessions, drawing roughly $2.84 billion since Sept. 17.

The renewed demand comes as BTC trades inside the $84,000-$85,000 long-term holder supply cluster tracked by Glassnode, putting ETF buying against a price zone where a large amount of previously acquired Bitcoin sits near breakeven.

Bitcoin ETF inflows reach $2.84B in six sessions

US spot Bitcoin ETFs added $190.7 million on Sept. 24, following inflows of $346.9 million, $714.7 million and $999 million over the prior three sessions.

Combined with $433 million on Sept. 18 and $159.5 million on Sept. 17, the six-session streak totals about $2.84 billion, according to Farside data. BlackRock’s IBIT led Thursday with $162.6 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC added $12.9 million.

The flow remained positive even after Bitcoin pulled back from above $87,000 earlier this week. ETF demand continued as BTC moved back into a dense holder supply area, leaving new fund buying to absorb coins that can return to market around their acquisition price.

Bitcoin tests $84K-$85K long-term holder supply

Glassnode’s latest research identifies $84,000-$85,000 as the largest long-term holder supply cluster. Earlier September research showed about 1.07 million BTC were acquired across the broader $83,000-$86,000 band, with the heaviest concentration near $85,000. Coins bought in that range can add selling pressure when holders regain the chance to exit near breakeven.

CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost pointed to a separate holder-cost signal in a Sept. 24 X post. Bitcoin’s short-term holder cost basis crossed above the active long-term holder cost basis for only the fifth time in the series, a move he described as confirmation of a bull market and improving market momentum. Darkfost also cautioned that the signal can still fail, leaving room for error in the indicator.

Miner flows add a near-term selling risk

CryptoQuant also reported that miner-linked wallets sent 19,866 BTC to Binance on Sept. 21 as Bitcoin traded near $87,000. Large miner deposits can raise available exchange supply, but its analysis found that similar transfers around 20,000 BTC since 2024 have generally not produced an immediate sharp price decline.

Bitcoin is now trading near the lower edge of Glassnode’s $84,000-$85,000 cluster. Above it, Glassnode places the next major onchain resistance at the mean MVRV price near $96,700.
